Yesterday wasn’t one of my better days. Despite starting 4 seasons brimming with excitement and hope, yesterday I was down inside dumps. For starters, I caught a chilly and did not have much energy.
Everything on my small to accomplish list appeared to be moving a mountain and I just wasn’t around doing a thing. That useless feeling somehow went from like a momentary feeling to escalating into the entire year like a mess.
Do you ever get that “What am I doing with my life feeling?” That’s where I was.
Luckily, I have some approaches to turning it around. If you ever get in that down inside the dumps mood, I hope these will assist you to emerge fast.
Remind yourself it is merely a feeling
Every feeling is just a couple of chemicals within you confusing in a certain way. Joy is but one chemical cocktail, fear, another, etc. Even feeling poopy is just a couple of chemicals that may be changed quickly.
Find a starting place for happiness
Making positive changes to a chemical cocktail can be as easy as altering your current thoughts. Find something inside your world, past or present, that creates you happy. For me yesterday, I had to think back to all of the great things I’ve done inside the past and the way many clients have thanked me for helping them. Replaying some old movies of my well being in my head got the happy chemicals flowing again. Making a report on things that you prefer about today might help also. Even something as silly as “I such as the wallpaper on my small computer screen” may start the method.
Change the scenery
Another thing which enables a whole lot is to move out of wherever you might be and go someplace nice. Take a walk, visit lunch, call a friend to meet with the mall, or maybe go back home and hug young kids. By changing what you take a look at and adding a breeding ground that stimulates you, you commence the chemical remix that may have you ever feeling better.
Do another thing
If all else fails, I resort to this last tactic. It requires force and I don’t like it but it works. I make myself do a very important factor that could prevent my worst-case scenario from happening. Sometimes it’s making a phone to some clients and reminding them of a product they haven’t bought. Other times it is sending an email sticking with the same purpose. Still, other times it is reaching out to a colleague and asking should they might be sure you send a referral if they consider it. By doing that another thing, I feel like I’ve accomplished something and it unsticks me enough to accomplish among the other pursuits mentioned previously.
I’m thrilled to report that changing my scenery worked wonders for me yesterday. I took a visit to the aquarium and watched the lovely fish swim around. Afterward, I felt refreshed and able to tackle some work, even though the cold was still obstructing my head.
